Announcing ZBD Kart - Open Edition: Run Your Own Bitcoin Racing Events

We’re excited to announce that ZBD Kart is now available for the Bitcoin community to download, play, and host at your own events. Whether you’re running a conference, meetup, bar, or café, ZBD Kart brings people together through racing and stacking real Bitcoin rewards.

Organizers can host their own tournaments, with instant payouts through the Lightning Network. Previously, you could only play ZBD Kart for real sats when ZBD was hosting an event. Now, we’re giving the game to the community with the goal of empowering anyone to create engaging, Bitcoin-powered experiences.

What is ZBD Kart

ZBD Kart is a fast-paced multiplayer arcade racer inspired by Mario Kart — but with a twist: you race for real Bitcoin. Players collect Bitcoin on the track and can spend it to boost ahead, fire at opponents, or save it to withdraw after the race. Finding the right balance between using and holding your sats is the key to victory.

Built for the Bitcoin Community

ZBD Kart is designed for the Bitcoin community to host their own gaming events. It’s already been set up at Tokyo Bitcoin Base and will be making appearances at BTC Japan and BitFest UK later this year. It’s also set up at AntidoteBTC coworking hub in London.

We’re now inviting more conferences, Bitcoin hubs, and local venues to join in and make ZBD Kart part of their experience — bringing a dose of fun, competition, and Bitcoin-powered engagement to their audiences.

We’re making it easy to set up the game, load up the wallets with some sats and let people compete for Bitcoin!

How to Get Started

ZBD Kart is currently available for desktop, and it’s running in beta. We’re looking for more partners to bring it to their communities, so if you’d like to host a ZBD Kart setup at your next event, reach out to Chris Moss at chris@zbdpay.com for access and support.

The main setup part will be funding the wallets, so people can withdraw winnings to their lightning wallet of choice. You will have three options to set it up:

  1. Create a ZBD Developer Account
Get access to ZBD’s developer lightning wallets and payment APIs. This will require you to get onboarded as a ZBD business client and is more suitable for companies, not individuals. Great for people serious about building on Lightning.
  2. Use Your Own LNBits Instance
LNBits is an open-source lightning wallet you can use to power payouts in ZBD Kart. Great for individuals or enthusiasts who just want to run Bitcoin racing events for fun.
  3. Let Us Host It for You
For partners like Tokyo Bitcoin Base, we can manage the setup and wallet connection directly.
